A brief Introduction:

Three miles across the Trango Glacier and just above the confluence of the North and South Hainabroq Glaciers was the elusive Shipton Spire. Shipton Spire stands two hours walk from Trango Towers Group on Upper Trango Glacier. It rises out of the massive glacial junction with it’s walls looking stunning and fierce.

Many climbers from around the world are attracted by these rock towers. The climbing is hard but the rock quality is superb. On its major route a 29 pitch, 4,400 ft. big-wall with the pitch rated 6c, 7b and 7b+ certainly offer best technical climb one can expect on a Karakoram granite tower.

Itinerary:

Day 01   Islamabad:  

Arrival in Islamabad transfer to hotel, briefing.

Day 02   Skardu/Chilas:

 Fly to Skardu. (Flight is subject to weather). Upon arrival transfer to In case of cancellation of flight (10-12 hrs) drive by coach to Chilas (480 km) on Karakoram Highway,  hotel.

Day03  Chilas/Skardu:

A full Day free in  Skardu. If your are driving, complete road journey (07-08 hrs) to Skardu (275 km) En-route has good view of Nanga Parbat (8125m) at junction of Indus River and the rapids and fall of Indus River, hotel.

Day 04  Askole:

In the morning after break fast drive By jeeps to Askole (8-9 hrs). The last village, the villagers grow. Their own cereals, vegetables and fruits and own large herds of sheep, goats. Stay in camp.

Day 05   Jhola (3200m)

Start 2-3 hours, walk below the Biafo Glacier, a tortured Ocean of moving boulders and crevasses 2-km wide and continue to Jhola (4-5 hrs). Cross – Dumardo River Bridge and camp at campsite surrounded by a few bushes with a side stream, stay in camp.

Day 06   Paiyu (3600m)

Start on a relatively easy trail for 3-4 hrs. Crossing Bardumal campsites along a 2-km stretch of sandy River beach. After a lunch break continue towards Paiyu camp for another 2-3 hrs from where we enjoy magnificent Panorama of Cathedral Towers and triangle of K2 to the left for the first time, stay in camp.

Day 07   Base Camp (3900m)

6-8 hours slightly easy walk, with spectacular views and gigantic mountain panorama, including Gasherbrum IV and Mitre Peak, stay in camp.

Day 08-37     30 days for acclimatization and climbing.

Day 38   Paiyu (3600m)

After pack up Trek back to Paiyu, stay in camp.

Day 39    Jhola (3200m)

 Afternoon free for leisure. Overnight hotel.

Day 40   Askole (3000m)

Trek to Askole, stay in camp.

Day 41  Skardu (2340m)

Drive By jeep  to Skardu, stay in camp.

Day 42   Islamabad/Chilas

Fly toIslamabad. (Subject to weather). Upon arrival transfer to hotel.

In case of flight cancellation drive to Chilas, stay in hotel.

Day 43   Islamabad

Leisure day at Islamabad, In case of driving, complete road journey from  Chilas to Islamabad, stay in hotel

Day 44  Islamabad 

Islamabad  debriefing, Drive to airport for home flight.

Services included:

• Process of import/export permit from ministry of tourism.
• Assistance upon arrival/departure.
• Hotel accommodation in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Chilas and Skardu.
• All meals during trek and at B.C. as per itinerary.
• Porterage of 50 kg per person of expedition equipment and high altitude food etc. to the B.C. and 25 kg per person on return from BC.
• Road transfers between airport/hotel and within city as per itinerary.
• Sleeping tents, mattresses, mess, kitchen and toilet tent with tables/field stools and camping ground fees.
• Kitchen equipment, crockery, cutlery, fuel and related community gear.
• Wages and basic kit of guide, sirdar, cook and assistant(s).
• Insurance of our field staff and low altitude porters (except helicopter rescue).
• Porterage at airports, hotels, toll taxes and parking fee etc.
• Mail handling/forwarding to BC/overseas except postage charges.
• Reconfirmation of air tickets.
• Hiring of HAPs, mail runner(s) and any other crew as per requirement. (Wages and kit to be arranged by the team).

Services not included:

• International & domestic airfare, airport tax, excess baggage charges.
• Surface transfers in case of flight cancellations to the kick off point.
• High altitude porters/any crew above BC.
• Tents, sleeping bags, personal and climbing equipment of any kind beyond base camp including high altitude food and oxygen.
• Medications, ground evacuations and helicopter rescue charges of any kind.
• Room services, laundry, beverages, phone/communication bills and items of personal nature.
• Insurance liability of member (s) and other under force majeure conditions.
• Clearance of cargo and clearing agent’s charges before arrival of the team and its storage.
• Any other service not included in above list.
